A tribute exhibition designed by Olivier Saillard, Director of the Palais Galliera, which underlines the fundamental contribution of foreign designers in the history of French haute couture and ready-to-wear .
From the beginnings of haute couture, mid-nineteenth until today, famous names such as Frederick Worth, Elsa Schiaparelli, Balenciaga, Azzedine Alaia, Issey Myake, Yohji Yamamoto, Paco Rabane, Martin Margiela, Raf Simons, Haider Ackerman and many others, contribute to the international influence and enrich the expertise of French fashion.
Attracted by Paris by choice or political reasons, they brighten up from their creative curiosity, their textile experiments, their culture, the collections and runway shows of the fashion capital.
The exhibition is composed of iconic pieces of different founders currents and their influence on contemporary designers.
