Initially, the sailor blouse is a blue and white striped knit: 21 white stripes 20 millimeters and 20 indigo blue stripes 10 millimeters width with long sleeve imposed to the sailors by the Navy in 1858.

With the discovery of beach’s pleasures, bathing suit borrows its striped blue and white graphics, Gabrielle Chanel reinterprets this functional and male piece and launched his short sailor blouse in Deauville in 1917, impressing the spirit “cruising” to the feminine closet .
