A great exhibition staged by Robert Carsen, the decor of the differents rooms, like a jewel casket, is based on items used for the trunks manufacture, brass, leather, wood, linen, Louis Vuitton Monogram…
Divided into nine themes, it recounts the adventure of the trunk maker, said his innovative and daring spirit runs through the emblematic history and savoir faire of the House, from 1854 to nowdays.
It invites us to the art and the refinements of trips in all forms: car, train, yachting, cruise, aviation.
Wardrobe trunks, shoe trunks, secretary trunks, bed trunk, picnic trunks, tea trunks, toilet cases, hand luggages, leather goods, the most sophisticated and surprising commands tell and illustrate a new life style linked to the evolution of trips.
Classic trunks, objects and archives from Louis Vuitton’s heritage enrich the exhibition, pieces of the past interact with the latest creations of Marc Jacobs, Nicolas Ghesquière and collaborations of artists: Richard Prince, Takashi Murakami …
